"Seeing Angels" Memos from the Postpartum Trenches

You know how newborns like to stare off into space? They just zone out at the ceiling and get all quiet. In Egyptian culture, we refer to that as seeing angels. My son sees a lot of angels. And bless his little heart, he has the most enormous eyes for them.

When you think of those spacey moments that way, you get such a sense of peace, relief, and calm. Because whether your kid can see them or not, there are angels. They are watching us. And I like to think they are especially watching over the littlest ones.
