How to Install Coptic Fonts on Your iPad

Need to install Coptic fonts??Yesterday, Abouna had created this elaborate presentation for Summer Camp and when the time came to use it, we realized that the Coptic fonts were not installed on the iPad. How frustrating! It took me nearly an hour to figure it out, so I thought I would save someone else time and put this tutorial together.Our church uses Apple TV to display Coptic Reader, the weekly announcements, and the sermon presentations. It will be very handy to have Coptic on the iPad for future use!You can also use this trick for your iPhone or iPod. You will need to know the Apple ID password AND the device passcode. AND -- really this works for ANY font you want to install!

Step 1

Go to the App Store and search for the app Font Manager (free!). Download it to your device.

Step 2

Use Safari or another browser app to go to Hazzat.com and click on "Fonts" in the top menu. (Or click here.)

Step 3

At the bottom of that page, you will find a link to "Download All Coptic Fonts." Click it.

Step 4

Hit the "More.." link and choose "Import with Font Manager." Font Manager will say that 46 fonts were extracted. Hit OK.

Step 5

Click on the fonts from among the 46 that you want to download. (They can only be installed one at a time). I prefer Athanasius.ttf; Abouna likes Coptic1.ttf. Click on the preferred font and hit "Install."

Step 6

The program will take you into settings where you need to hit "Install" again. You will need to enter your passcode and hit "Install" again (ignore the warning about the profile not being signed). You have now installed your first Coptic font! Repeat for other desired fonts.You should be able to now use Coptic directly in Keynote, Powerpoint, and other apps!!
